Frogmore Stew, aka Low Country boil, is an simple and easy one-pot seafood feast. “Being a Beaufortonian, this has and will always be my favorite dish.”
Frogmore Stew has become an east coast favorite at many restaurants from Florida to Virginia.
Know matter how many names this dish gets...Beaufort Stew, Low Country Boil, and etc. the die hards will always call it Frogmore Stew.
8 quarts water
3/4 cup crab boil seasoning
2 pounds red potatoes- large potatoes cut in half
2 pounds smoked sausage links,
cut into 2 inch pieces
12 ears corn - quartered
4 pounds large fresh shrimp, unpeeled
12 blue crabs cooked, cleaned and cracked down the center or leave whole(optional)
Bring water and seasoning to boil in a large pot.
Add potatoes and cook for 15 minutes. Add sausage and corn and cook for 10 minutes more. Stir in the shrimp and precooked crabs and cook additional 5 minutes. Serve and eat
